JUDGING PROCESS

Channel Awards Asia - the judging process explained!

Composition of the jury

A panel of around 20 experts from the APAC IT channel form the jury for the CRN Channel Awards. All jury members have been actively working in the ICT industry for many years, they bring their experience in the channel to CRN and ensure that the applications, the selected finalists and ultimately the award winners meet our quality standards, which we attach to participation.

The members of the CRN jury are made up of managers from vendors, distributors, partners, associations and the CRN editorial team. All members of the CRN Readers' Advisory Board also serve on the jury.

All criteria met – first step

After the application deadline, the CRN editorial team will carry out an initial review of all submitted contributions. It is checked whether the criteria for the individual categories such as length of text contributions and video applications have been met. If only marketing brochures, company profiles or other general representations without any apparent connection to the CRN Channel Awards were used, such candidates will be eliminated.

Evaluation by the jury

The jury then makes the assessment. Each application can receive the maximum number of 10 points. The jury members are asked to briefly justify their vote for each application. The evaluation process takes place completely digitally; the jury members evaluate independently of each other.

Exclusion and division of labor
Members of the jury are not allowed to rate their own company. They are also not allowed to judge the contributions of those companies that include the company they work for. Representatives of manufacturers do not evaluate submissions from manufacturers, distributors do not evaluate distributors and partners such as system houses or MSPs do not evaluate partners. In this way we want to rule out conflicts of interest.

Determination and announcement of the finalists

Once the evaluation phase is complete, CRN determines the average score for each application for each category. If this is above a specified minimum level, the company in question qualifies as a finalist in the CRN Channel Awards. All finalists will be published by CRN and will be eligible to attend the CRN Channel Awards gala evening.

The winner is...

who has achieved the highest average points in a category. CRN determines the results and the winners are then confirmed by the jury. If there is a tie, the jury will agree on a winner. The award winners will be announced and honored in the presence of the CRN jury and CRN employees at the major networking event of the CRN Channel Awards.

All information remains confidential
Numbers, data, facts, customer quotes and other information that companies submit in their application for the CRN Channel Awards remain confidential. They will not be passed on or published by the CRN editorial team. Only the jury members have access - and only to applications that are not submitted in the categories (manufacturer, distributor, partner) to which their company belongs.

Why this effort?

We believe that only the best and exemplary initiatives, projects, solutions or marketing or sales measures should be honored with an award. A CRN award recognizes the outstanding performance of a company for which people have worked hard, shown a lot of passion and contributed their creative and skilled know-how.

Participation in the final and a CRN award are not given for free. These awards, which are highly respected in the market, have been earned by a globally renowned channel publication. This is what the experts of the independent CRN jury stand for, as well as a transparent and fair process for every company that is ready to be challenged.
