Executive Panel: Women in Sustainability - Leading Innovation, Change, and Delivering Impact Amidst Challenges

While women remain visibly underrepresented in top executive and board roles globally, the world view on executive sustainability roles is at once inspiring and insightful - Globally today (2025), women hold 63% executive and 65% of CSO roles in sustainability.

This is of great significance not only in inverting the entrenched gender imbalance in top executive roles, research further evidence that female leaders are inherently poised to succeed in this role given their inclination toward holistic viewpoints and systems thinking.

Whilst female leaders are increasingly recognised for the tangible value and impact they deliver in sustainable innovation and outcomes alongside business growth and financials, they face challenges unique to driving sustainability transformation.

We speak to female leaders who have successfully prioritised and integrated sustainability, circular economy and social engagement in their organisations. This insightful and highly pertinent panel offers insights into mindset, motivation, and the management of the friction between shorter term profitability versus longer term sustainability value.

Executive Panel: Men as Allies: From Awareness to Action

As the conversation around gender equity evolves, one thing is clear: meaningful progress requires active allyship. In this candid and forward-looking discussion, senior leaders share what it truly means for men to move beyond support in principle to action in practice. This panel will explore how male allies can advocate for equitable opportunities, challenge bias in real time, and help create cultures where women in the channel can thrive. Through real-world examples and honest reflection, speakers will unpack what works, what doesn’t, and where organizations still fall short. Attendees will leave with practical perspectives on how to foster allyship at every level—transforming intent into impact and accelerating progress across teams, organizations, and the wider APAC ecosystem.

Executive Keynote: Looking Beyond Glass Ceilings: Creating Success on Your Own Terms

After 75 years of wide-ranging effort to advance women’s rights and equality, the reality is that women still face systemic barriers to workplace equality and advancement. Couched in terms including “glass ceilings”, “glass cliffs”, and “broken rungs”, the plethora of entrenched bias all too often push women into striving harder to be recognised professionally even whilst they shoulder the greater load of caregiving in personal life.

Does this mean women can only inch forward but never freely, fairly, and far? How can women decide, create and realise success on their own terms?

This thought-provoking keynote challenges traditional narratives around success and explores how women can define and achieve untethered fulfilment.

Through a blend of mindset shifts, organisational strategies, positive psychology, neuroscience, and lived experience, Suguna provides insights and actionable tools for transformational thinking and living. This keynote invites women to take the pilot’s seat and chart their goals with courage and creativity; and to uphold their wellbeing as they look to maximise growth potential for a fulfilling professional and personal life.

Executive Panel: AI Is Rewiring Leadership - Who’s Getting Ahead — and Why? – Cisco and AWS

Research tells us that AI is becoming a defining factor in how leadership capability is created and recognised. As AI becomes embedded in our work, it is changing how productivity, visibility and influence are built. Those who adopt early are at an advantage, but adoption is uneven, shaped by people’s appetite for risk, confidence and the leadership priorities. These differences don’t just impact efficiency; they shape who gets trusted and promoted. This debate explores how AI adoption is becoming a leadership issue, not just a technology one. We’ll look at how culture, incentives and governance are influencing behaviour, and what leaders must actively change to ensure consistent, responsible adoption. The focus is on accountability and how we create environments where exploration is encouraged, risk is managed, and AI drives performance as a primary objective.

Closing Keynote: The Power of Pain: reframing struggle, strength and the need to listen to our bodies

For almost three decades I was told that my crippling pain was in my head; until one day, a doctor believed me and I received a diagnosis that changed my life. I used to be deeply ashamed of my pain, and I worked hard to hide it from everyone, even those I loved. Today, I understand that my struggle does not define my strength, any more than my diagnosis does; but my story shared may help someone stop suffering in silence, or waiting decades for a diagnosis.

Key takeaways:

  • Know your normal.
  • How to listen to your body. Deeply. Actively. Always.
  • Pain as a feature, not a bug.

Why this topic now?

On average women spend 25% of their lives in poorer health. The shame I describe, the internalised belief that visible pain disqualifies you from leadership, is something so many women carry silently. When individuals, institutions and organisations reinforce the idea that pain is simply part of the female condition, it embeds a lie into our very beings that has evolved on a global scale into what we now know as the gender pain gap. This gap is as much a leadership issue, as a health one. It’s time we give ourselves permission to harness the power of our pain.
